Sources Expect QB Tom Brady to Sign with the Buccaneers
Six Super Bowl wins, and two decades later, Tom Brady has finally decided to end his run with the Patriots. Earlier today, ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington both announced that veteran QB Tom Brady would likely be signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Brady’s potential signing destination has been widely discussed during the off-season. Although there had been talks of where Brady might resign, I had expected him to stay in New England. Sources say Brady was looking to sign for more money then the Patriots were willing to offer.
Brady Thanks Patriots & Fans on Instagram
Earlier today, Brady took to his Instagram to announce the fact that he would not be resigning with Boston. In the post, he was quite thankful and appreciative of all his years and accomplishments with the team, players, and coaching staff in New England.
Brady uploaded a second post thanking all of his fans and Patriots supporters. It is evident that the Patriots and the city they play in meant a lot to Brady. After spending two decades with the same team though Tom Brady will be switching things up.
It is wild to think that QB Tom Brady will not be wearing a Patriots jersey next time he competes in the NFL. This veteran QB has accomplished so much with the Patriots and Bill Belichick, so it will be interesting to see what the upcoming season holds.
Brady will have quality options to throw to in Tampa Bay with WRs Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Playing with a new team after all these years will inevitably be some sort type of adjustment, though.
What are your guy’s thoughts though?
Were you surprised by this new update on Brady’s upcoming signing? How do you expect Brady and the Buccaneers to perform in 2020? And will the Patriots be able to compete without Brady holding it down at QB?
