*** Upcoming Planned Protests *** The Police Department is monitoring social media activity advertising a youth lead protest march in Walnut Creek tonight. It appears the march is to start as early as 5:00 p.m. and as late as 9:00 p.m. The route the protestors plan to take is unknown at this time.
The organizers are encouraging participants to march through neighborhoods with pots and pans in an effort to make a lot of noise. If you are an organizer of this event or are a participant. please reach out to Sergeant Jower at email@example.com. so we can work together and put measures in place to ensure a safe event for everyone. We are happy to work with peaceful protestors to help ensure your safety and the safety of the community while expressing your 1st Amendment Rights. In addition to this march, we are also monitoring information regarding potential looting in the downtown retail district. At the moment, it appears the group is advocating this activity tonight at 9:00 p.m. Although we do not know if this threat is credible, we are encouraging business owners to take precautions to protect their employees and businesses. The Police Department is in the process of planning for both of these events and will provide updates as we receive new information.
This generation’s inflation with social media proves to be their demise yet again.
Instead of a protest against the police, the protestors in Walnut Creek had police escort’s for their abolish the police walk.
A group of approx. 200 protestors gathered at Heather Farm Park. The group is now walking w/b on Ygnacio Valley near Homestead in all lanes of traffic. WCPD is in the area and is attempting to provide traffic control. Please use caution if driving the area.

Although they lack organizational and secrecy skills the protestors did have a goal in mind.

Defunding the police is now a conspiracy theory, instead of a rallying cry to improve public service. The country went from coronavirus pandemic to kill black people pandemic on camera very quickly. It is truly amazing the number of deaths of unarmed black people that have happened since George Floyd’s death.
As the protestors in Walnut Creek continue their fight to influence change. A slight reminder that two black men were hung not too far from these protests is hard to ignore. Quite simply the fight to change shouldn’t be a fight at all.
What do you guys think about the protest in Walnut Creek wanting to abolish slavery?
