A privately funded company has begun construction of Donald Trump’s border wall.
The organization is called “We Build the Wall.” They began working this weekend on a project to erect a section of border wall in the El Paso sector.
Former Kansas Secretary of State, Kris Kobach reveals that the building will star because there is a “ridiculously large gap” near Mount Cristo Rey. Which
is where they are letting in drug and human smugglers.
“This is the first time any private organization has built border wall on private land,” he said.
He reveals that the wall gets its funds through private donations to the organization.
“We’ll keep on building as long as people keep chipping in. The average contribution has been only $67 but so many people have chipped in,” added Kobach.
This news comes after a federal judge blocked Donald Trump’s order to start construction of his border wall with money gathered under his declaration of a national emergency.
The “We Build The Wall” project was started by a U.S. war veteran, Brian Kolfage, and is being led by a group that includes former White House strategist Steve Bannon, former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who is known for his hard-line views on immigration and has been mentioned as a possible pick by President Donald Trump to lead the Department of Homeland Security.
The Go Fund Me page calls the project “Trump approved.”
As of Monday, it raised more than $22 million of its $1 billion goal.
Kobach discussed the group’s progress with the wall on Monday morning during an appearance on the Fox News Network’s “Fox and Friends.”
“This is the first time any private organization has built a border wall…,” Kobach said. “We’ve been working 24-7 over the holiday weekend, to give America a present this Memorial Day weekend.”
The wall, he said, is being built at a half-mile gap in existing government fencing near Mount Cristo Rey.
