Philadelphia Mayor calls for gun control after 6 police officers shot!
A gunman is in custody after opening fire and wounding six Philadelphia police officers in a tense hourslong standoff that ended early Thursday.
The gunman surrendered just after midnight when police fired tear gas into the home he was in. He was later identified as Maurice Hill, 36.
“Our officers deserve to be protected and they don’t deserve to be shot at by a guy for hours with an unlimited supply of weapons and an unlimited supply of bullets. It’s disgusting and we have to do something about it,” Mayor Jim Kenney told reporters.
Trump later responded to the Philadelphia shootings by saying:
“…He had a long and very dangerous criminal record. Looked like he was having a good time after his capture, and after wounding so many police. Long sentence – must get much tougher on street crime!”
The Philadelphia shooter should never have been allowed to be on the streets. He had a long and very dangerous criminal record. Looked like he was having a good time after his capture, and after wounding so many police. Long sentence – must get much tougher on street crime!

On a positive note, all officers are free from the hospital!
