According to The Source, Barack and Michelle Obama have just inked a deal with Spotify to bring exclusive content to listeners. The deal is between Spotify and Higher Ground Audio, a spinoff of the production company started by the former first family. Under the new deal, the content will cover a wide variety of topics, that will be hand-picked by the married couple. At times, listeners can also expect them to chime in one certain subject. It is a multiyear deal– one that Michelle and Barack are really excited about. The Obamas Spotify deal is sure to gain plenty of listeners.
Michelle says, “We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to amplify voices that are too often ignored or silenced altogether, and through Spotify, we can share those stories with the world. Our hope is that through compelling, inspirational storytelling, Higher Ground Audio will not only produce engaging podcasts but help people connect emotionally and open up their minds — and their hearts.”
Higher Ground Productions came about last year. Since then, they’ve also scored a multiyear deal with Netflix. They’ll be producing original content for them as well– some already in the making.
