Nipsey Hussle will be posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The late rapper and entrepreneur was named among 38 honorees today. Other members of the Hollywood Walk of Fame class of 2022 include George Clinton, Ashanti, DJ Khaled, Black Eyed Peas, Avril Lavigne, and more. They will be inducted as part of the Recording category.
These honorees were chosen from among hundreds of nominees at a meeting of the Walk of Fame selection committee held Monday and ratified by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors on Wednesday. Radio personality Ellen K, chair of the selection committee (and a past Walk of Fame honoree), announced the new honorees on the Walk of Fame’s website.
Nipsey, who was killed outside his Marathon Clothing store in 2019, becomes the latest rap icon to be immortalized with a star. Other rappers on the Walk of Fame include Diddy, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, LL Cool J, Pharrell, and Queen Latifah.
