Nicki Minaj First Female Rapper to Launch Label

Nicki Minaj has accomplished what no female rapper has done.

Ghanaian singer Nana Fofie is a rising star in the music industry with her incredible mashup covers on YouTube that blend Afrobeats and R&B. The Rotterdam-based singer has already amassed over 13 million views and earned a nickname, “The Mashup Queen.”

Her latest cover of Nicki Minaj’s “Megathrone” has got fans clamoring to see her perform live. In the meantime, the rapper has thrown her support behind her new signed artist.

First Female Rapper To Launch Her Label

During her Queen Radio show on Friday (March 3), Nicki Minaj announced that she is launching her own record label. The 40-year-old explained that she would be responsible for finding artists and allowing them to succeed, just like she did with Lil Wayne early in her career.

According to NME, the label will become a subsidiary of Republic Records and feature various musical genres. Its first signees include American rappers Tate Kobang, Rico Danna, London Hill, Nana Fofie, and British singer Patty Lauren.

The singer and her team are currently searching for other talented musicians to join the label and will focus on giving them the platform they need to make their mark in the music world. She is also bringing on Wendy Goldstein, former co-president of Republic Records, as the president of her new label.

Nicki is the first female rapper to launch her label but won’t be the last. As she continues pushing the music industry’s boundaries, we can’t wait to see what she has in store for her future projects.
