Nick Sandmann’s Stare-down Is The Reason America Will Always Be Racist

A group of teenagers surrounded a Native American elder and other Native Americans at an indigenous people’s march.

Various videos of the white teenagers, wearing MAGA, terrorizing Native Americans as they marched surfaced online. Nathan Philips, a Native American elder and war veteran, also attended the march. He said that that he felt “hate unbridled” from the teens. The students were from the Covington Catholic High School.

One of the teenagers in the video, Nick Sandmann, a junior at the high school spoke to CNN. He said:

“I was not intentionally making faces at the proteste and I did smile at one point because I wanted him to know that I was not going to become angry, intimidated or be provoked into a larger confrontation. I am a faithful Christian and practicing Catholic, and I always try to live up to the ideals my faith teaches me — to remain respectful of others, and to take no action that would lead to conflict or violence.”

He continued:

“I’m mortified that so many people have come to believe something that did not happen. That students from my school were chanting or acting in a racist fashion toward African-Americans or Native Americans. I did not do that, do not have hateful feelings in my heart, and did not witness any of my classmates doing that.”

Although Sandmann might say confrontation was not the goal, everything that happened proves otherwise. It was him and his friends who decided to interrupt this march. They came after the Native American protesters. So, he can make all the claims that he wants, the evidence proves that he is lying.

But, what do you think of what Nick Sandmann said?
