I’ve always felt like humans don’t celebrate enough. Why do we feel the need to only celebrate the big wins like birthdays or a promotion? But in reality, even our smallest of achievements are still worth celebrating. Even though she is younger than most, 23-year-old artist NextYoungin realizes the importance of celebrating in her new single “Pop Yo Shi Twin”.
Appealing to the youth, she started making a name for herself on TikTok around 2020. Being able to show her personality, opened the doors for potential fans to check out her music. Once they realized how talented she was, it was a clear indicator that she was here to stay, and thus the beginning of her fanbase.
Big Things OTW
Now she has teamed up with Atlanta-based company, Streamcut, which has previously worked with artists like Latto or Saucy Santana. This puts her in a prime position to have another breakout year for her music. Which leads me back to “Pop Yo Shi Twin”, their first single, within their partnership. If you still don’t know her name yet, I guarantee this record will leave a lasting impression on who she is and what she stands for.
NextYoungin is distinguishable from other female lyricists for her ability to make music not only just for women but men too. She shows in this track that she has the perfect balance of femininity and masculinity, so neither gender feels left out. It’s truly the best of both worlds. On top of that, the song is empowering and just makes you want to live your best life.
Bright Hope
It’s good to see artists that are using their platform to make a difference. You never know who had a bad day and need that song to remind them it’s going to be okay. Using your music to inspire change within others is one of the main reasons I love music. NextYoungin should continue to make more music containing an uplifting message.
