No More “Yes Masta’ As NBA Billionaires Look To Change Racial Views

One of the biggest sports leagues in the world is looking to bring about change. Behind closed doors it seems that the NBA is looking to change the perspective of a racial tense term.

For some time now, the NBA owner has been dealing with the thought of possibly changing their titles. The NBA is comprised of a league of majority black players. However, a dominant ratio of the owner is not of African American descent. Furthermore, the term owner brings about racial tension that in no way, shape, or form is good for the game.

TMZ reports that back in 2018, Draymond stirred up the issue when he appeared on “The Shop”, and played advocate for the term being changed. Furthermore, Jon Stewart was sure to give his input to the notion that things need to change.

“When your product is purely the labor of people then owner sounds like something that is of a futile nature.”

Around the same time the episode aired, the Philadelphia 76ers would ultimately make the change from owners to managing partners, and the co-owners being relabeled as Limited Partners. Clippers owner would go on to take a similar lead and now reflected as chairman on the site.

Surely the brand of the NBA continues to grow with an increase of other nationalities becoming well-known superstars. However, a large portion of today’s top premiere players is primarily African America.

What is your take on the NBA racial owner tension surrounding the term owner? Should it be required to change? Leave your comments below, and stay tuned to
