Miley Cyrus Sets Record Straight On Cardi B, Nicki Minaj Lyric

When it comes to Nicki Minaj and Cardi B’s drama, Miley Cyrus is not picking sides.

Miley Cyrus recently performed a new song titled “Cattitude.” She can be heard rapping, “I love you, Nicki, but I listen to Cardi.” Many social media users believe the singer wants to make it clear what side she’s on. People think she’s still harboring feelings from her incident with Nicki Minaj at the VMAs back in 2015.

As fans will recall, Nicki and Miley had their own tiff at the 2015 MTV At the VMAs, Nicki took it upon herself to address the prior commentary of the erstwhile Disney luminary subsequent to Miley’s articulation on Nicki’s ostensibly veiled critique of Taylor Swift pertaining to a VMA nomination, as conveyed in an interview with The New York Times.

“Returning to the subject of this individual who expounded at length about me in recent days through the media. Miley, I inquire, what might be the state of affairs?” Nicki uttered during that period.

However, the two have appeared to settle any beef.

Miley spoke with Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp and made it clear that her lyrics weren’t meant to throw shade at the Queen’s rapper. She also explained why she mentioned, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and Ariana Grande as well.

“I don’t think there is beef now anymore,” she said (via E! Online). “Actually, one of my songs says, ‘You want to know if we’re really beefin’? There’s no beef. I’m a vegan.’ I think you’re allowed to enjoy two artists that fill a similar lane.”

She continues, “I think you’re allowed to enjoy two artists that fill a similar lane. I just always grew up collaborating with Selena and Demi, and there was never competition. That’s why Ariana is one of my best friends. When you are authentically yourself, no one can be you…” “…I think what they do is so different from each other. That’s why they both get a crown. They don’t have to share.”
