Meth? South Dakota Says It Is On It

South Dakota is on Meth! At least that’s what the state’s new Anti-Drug slogan is!!!

Meth. Were on it! that is South Dakota’s new slogan for their Drug Awareness Campaign. The slogan is designed to address South Dakota’s “meth crisis”. Monday saw social media making fun of the slogan as twitter users had a field day with the line.

In a video that kicked off the campaign people both young and old are seen saying “I’m on meth” while looking into the camera. In campaign posters, people are photographed doing everyday tasks with the slogan “Meth. We’re on it” written into the picture. South Dakota Says-1

The idea behind the campaign is for it to act as a rallying cry to South Dakota residents. Instead of meth just being a problem for individuals and their families, it is a problem for the whole state to tackle. South Dakota Governor Kristi Neom is spearheading the campaign and has defended it amid the recent backlash.

In a statement, Noem has said. ” The mission of the campaign is to raise awareness –to get people talking about how they can be part of the solution and not just the problem,”. Apparently, the strategy is working. Both people in and outside of the state of South Dakota know they have a serious meth issue.

Furthermore, the fact that the campaign cost taxpayers nearly half a million dollars is an issue.

Noem stands behind her decision and feels South Dakota will change the way this country “combats addiction”. If the campaign doesn’t get the results needed to justify its price tag people will suggest maybe Noem is really on Meth.

While this campaign is a little odd and off the books. The approach is appreciated for trying something different. Meth is one of the most addictive/dangerous drugs out there and causes harm to families and communities rapidly when introduced. The fact that the governor is willing to take such a risky move is a sign she actually does care.

What do you guys think about the Meth “we’re on it” campaign? is it too much or exactly what’s needed to get people’s attention.
