Meg Thee Stallion’s Label Sucks But Did They Cost Her An AMAs Win?

Her loss indeed at the AMAs this year. Megan thee Stallion’s label just might have cost her being 2022’s female rapper of the year! Her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, would not allow for Megan’s single to be featured in promotional material for the American Music Awards, which took place this past Sunday. The motivation behind the label’s actions was obvious to Megan’s legal team. Megan is arguably the most well-known artist signed to her Houston label, and they have been behind even Megan’s most recent drops.

Despite being granted a restraining order against both her record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, as well as her distributor, 300 Entertainment. The “Her” singer had wished for the single to be included in promotional material by the AMAs. After the record label objected, Meg’s legal team took immediate action so as to not hurt Megan’s chances Sunday night. Despite her best efforts, Meg did not take home any awards last night.

Megan’s certainly been going through it lately. Torey Lanez is set to go to trial at the end of the month for allegedly shooting Megan in the foot back in 2020. Drake and 21 Savage mentioned Megan in lyrics that have since been heavily critiqued, and she didn’t win favorite rap artist. Keep your head up, baby girl!
