Meek Mill has definitely come a long way from those days of having nappy braids that lock.
Mill has just scored a key to the state of Connecticut. The honor happened on Tuesday, just as Meek’s The Motivation Tour touches down in the city of Hartford. There to honor the rapper was Brandon McGee, State Representative.
In addition, along with a key, McGee has also declared March 19 as “Meek Mill Day.”
This is not Mill’s first time receiving such honors. Prior to his key to the Connecticut state and official holiday, Mill was given the same by Houston and Philadelphia. But perhaps the most important of the three comes from his hometown, Philadelphia.
And no it isn’t for his recent rollout of songs.
According to TMZ, the “Going Bad” rapper is on a government recognition tour. As of lately, Mill’s receiving recognition for his dedication in creating reform in the criminal justice system.
Because of his commitment, MM didn’t only get a day, but an entire weekend in his honor, in Philly. It’s coined “Meek Mill Weekend” and was given to him by the City Council.
