It might surprise you that Mary-Kate Olsen is a lover of horses, but a fact is a fact, and she definitely is.
And if that does surprise you then this next fact will surely knock your socks off.
On Thursday, Mary-Kate was seen competing at the Longines Global Champions Tour at Club de Campo Villa in Madrid. She had with her, her two horses Naomi and Fatum. Together, they participated in show jumping. Unfortunately, though, she did not secure a winning spot in the competition. Page Six has learned that she and Fatum were disqualified due to an error of course, while she and Naomi placed sixth in their heap.
As it turns out, Mary-Kate has loved horses since she was a young child. She first started riding at the age of six-years-old, before casting aside the sport to attend NYU. Often, she contributes her love for the animal as her key to success. “[Riding] allows me to practice being accepting, patient, disciplined, compassionate, competitive, and all of those other emotions that are very important to have in your everyday life,” she says. “Horses teach you a lot about yourself.”
Mary-Kate is best known for her acting roles as a child before she made a transition into fashion. Now her and her sister, Ashley Olsen, are owners of The Row and Elizabeth & James.
It’s not certain if Ashly was present in Madrid on Thursday, but Mary-Kate’s husband was.
