With the debut of his own line , House of Od, Magnolia based label and designer Odmunkh Natsagdorj, aka Od is revamping the entire landscape of streetwear culture. Featuring a blend of street and athletic influences coupled with dark denim and an update on the classic camo pattern, House of Od is not for the faint at heart – rather for the edgy millennial looking to distinguish one self from the mundane binaries of street wear culture and sartorial aesthetics.
When asked about the inception in a recent interview with Vogue, Od stated
“I think it’s because my mom used to dress us very stylishly, I remember in kindergarten, I liked a girl who wore jeans and a jean jacket because I liked to wear denim, too. At that time, my personal style touch was to wear different colored silky polka-dot hairbands. I was just a kid who liked to wear what I wanted, without rules.”
Od channeled his creative energies with influences from “life, Internet, TV, and mostly observing.” By combining this empirical approach with his “visions from nowhere,” Od has created pieces for the closet of cool kids, “existing between dream and a 3-D world.”
