Lucifans, Part two of Season 5 Trailer Drops

Lucifans, Part two of Season 5 Trailer Drops!

Season 5 part two of Lucifer is just around the corner and the lucifer trailer from Netflix has been dropped. God is here in the “flesh” and is going to be played by Dennis Haysbert. Lucifans will get to see the family dynamic in action including the dysfunctional elements. Chloe will get to ask all her burning questions and give God a piece of her mind where God and Lucifer’s relationship is concerned. Linda finally gets a session with Lucifer and God. But before we get into all of that, from the trailer, let’s check back to where we left off in part one.

    Where we left off

Season 5, part one, ended with Lucifer fighting with Maze who was a little more than upset about his opinions on her finding a love of her own. He says the wrong thing unaware of how what he says will effect Maze, proclaiming she can’t change and fall in love because she is a demon. Needless to say, Maze is nursing a bit of a grudge and some anger and just a bit of jealousy towards Lucifer.  Amenadiel was fighting Michael, Lucifer’s twin brother who touched down to create havoc. Then, a bit booming voice, “That’s enough.” God proclaims, “Children, you know I hate it when you fight.”

    Trailer:

    Let’s breakdown the trailer.

The trailer picks up right where we left off with God interrupting the end of part one battle between Lucifer, Maze, Amenadiel, and Michael. Immediately, afterward there is family dinner that appears very tense for obvious reasons.

God has a moment with Chloe and Ella & Lucifer’s relationship with dear old dad.

The next scene shows Chloe speaking to God, “You are a terrible father, respectfully.” Then several cringe-worthy montaged moments of God spending time with Lucifer and criticizing him. Thus, leading to a moment we all saw coming. Go and Lucifer attend counseling with Linda for some unresolved issues between them as it has been effecting his relationship with Chloe. God gives Ella some advice possibly unbeknowing who she’s getting advice from, the running joke.

God Retires; Lucifer takes on the mantle?

“I think it’s time. Time for me to retire.” Immediately, in very Lucifer-fashion, the devil comes up with the idea that he will take his father’s place. Although, unfortunately for him, Michael has the same idea. And, he has already started to gather support and began campagining against Lucifer. But will God actually retire? or is this another ploy and game as it seems that’s how they portray him. I could see God changing his mind after all the chaos like it’s no big deal.

    Musical Episode

An aside from one of the montaged scenes appears to be a musical episode or have a musical number in it. The showrunners have had one in the last half so having another one isn’t too unexpected. However, let’s hope it fits with the tone of the episode. Although, I’m sure it would be for comedic reasons.

    Maze’s Relationships

It does appear that Lucifer and Maze are working together so either he’s made some promises or they have repaired their relationship. Let’s hope it’s the latter. Moving to another relationship, It appears that Maze and Eve may have reunited. On the other hand, it could be old footage.

It ends on a heartbreaking note between our favorite ship, Deckerstar, where Lucifer says it would be a lie to say those three words. Let’s hope that’s a misdirect but Chole is crying as he says that to her. Maybe, this has something to do with his lack of feeling loved and accepted by his father since the show is spending quite a bit of time on that relationship. Lucifer also has struggled through the series with loving and accepting himself, so it’s not a far reach that it would effect their relationship. What long-term effects will it have on their relationship is still up in the air. Although, Lucifans are hoping their relationship doesn’t end just as it has started.

Lucifer part two will be released May 28 and season 6 has already been confirmed.
