Rams’ Odell Beckham Jr. Beefs With Packers’ Davante Adams

Los Angeles Rams Odell Beckham Jr. sparks friendly beef with Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams. The Packers came close to signing Beckham when he was a free agent after being released by the Cleveland Browns. They were considered one of the top contenders for the veteran receiver. The Packers at the time, held one of the best records in the entire league 7-2. Not to mention, having one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Aaron Rodgers.

However, they were unable to sign Beckham despite the perfect fit. It seemed to boil down to the money being the biggest reason why a deal wasn’t met. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he reported that the Packers offered Beckham just the veteran minimum with additional incentives to finish out the remainder of the season. The Rams were able to offer Beckham $4.25 million for the remainder of the year. Beckham did give the Packers an opportunity to either match or increase their offer; however, the Packer’s offer didn’t increase.

According to a source speaking to ESPN, Beckham wasn’t willing to accept equal or lower pay to join Green Bay instead of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Rams Signing Sparks Issues

As a result, Beckham joined forces with the Rams and this didn’t sit well with Adams. Beckham joining a loaded Rams offense and talented receivers with Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, and Van Jefferson. This seemed to come by surprise as many people know Beckham to want a lot of targets and opportunities to play make in the open field. The Rams may not necessarily give him that chance due to their immense level of talent on the offensive side of the ball.

Several sources have come out and said Adams eventually sent a jersey over to the Rams locker room. Adams took more jabs to add insult to injury after beating them, 36-28.

Initially, Beckham wasn’t expected to have a huge role with the Rams right away. However, Woods unexpectedly tore his ACL a day before Beckham signed. This forced Beckham to step up prematurely and days later he suited up against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football.

“Odell is getting more comfortable,” McVay explained to ESPN. “It’s impressive that he was able to play against the Niners, and it speaks volumes about his determination.”
