Lakers’ Anthony Davis Returns, LeBron James Ankle Sprain

The Los Angeles Lakers’ situation worsens as they face the Dallas Mavericks tonight without their two top players. They must win to secure the play-in spot with only ten games left in the regular season. Lakers’ LeBron James and Anthony Davis are doubtful, as reported by ESPN.

Even with James’ recent ankle sprain, Davis returned to full live practice for the first time since Feb. 16. James is scheduled for left ankle treatment, injured in the Lakers’ latest loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Sadly, this has been a recurring trend during the Lakers’ season so far.

Vogel commented on Davis, saying it’s now about how he reacts and feels after his first real practice.

Throughout the year, they’ve struggled with injuries, which can be frustrating as a coach. Just as the Lakers seem ready for a deep playoff run, they find themselves missing another player.

“It’s been that type of year,” Vogel said. “It’s something we can’t control. It’s unfortunate. But we need to focus and, like we’ve done all season, adapt our game plan based on who’s available.”

    The Los Angeles Lakers’ future

According to ESPN, the Lakers are currently in the tenth position in the Western Conference. They have a one-game advantage over the San Antonio Spurs for the last play-in tournament spot.

“We gave it everything we had in that game. And we’re going to give it everything we’ve got tomorrow night,” Vogel said. “The competitive drive was intense.”
