TRU – which marks the long-awaited follow-up to the multi-platinum star’s 2016 TRU EP that garnered the RIAA certified platinum single, “TRU,” is his most personal work to date. The album reflects on living your truth, loss and letting go, as well as intimate ruminations on love and life.
In addition to Lloyd producing and writing the majority of the album, TRU boasts with features from Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Sevyn Streeter, Khujo Goodie, Curren$y, The Spelman Women’s Choir and Lloyd’s baby boy, River.
After a five-year hiatus, Lloyd made a triumphant comeback with the 2016 single “TRU,” which addresses the artist’s absence over the years with an honest and unflinching look at what he’s been through. Not only did it amass nearly 40 million Spotify streams, but it also garnered a platinum certification from the RIAA. His ensuing TRU EP notched widespread critical acclaim from The Fader, Billboard, and many more and spawned hits such as “Heavenly Body” [feat. Rick Ross] and “Holding” [feat. Lil Wayne]. That’s just the latest chapter. Over the past decade-plus, his voice has graced countless chart-topping smashes, including “Southside”[feat.
