lilspirit, a Bay Area native with blue hair, has just dropped his first album, american spirit, available now on 10K Projects/Internet Money Records. The album includes his popular single “droptopbitch,” which has amassed over 8.5 million streams on SoundCloud. american spirit showcases the finest work from this emerging R&B artist and gives us a taste of his future endeavors.

Known for its earnest R&B vocals and addictive pop melodies, American Spirit features production from Omer Fedi (Ella Mai, 24KGoldn, Travis Barker), Internet Money’s Taz Taylor (Drake, Trevor Daniel, Lil Baby) and Nick Mira (Post Malone, Juice WRLD, YoungBoy Never Broke Again). According to lilspirit, he plans “to go to the top… to be a star,” and American Spirit proves that the ambitious, young artist is ready for it.
ABOUT LILSPIRIT:
lilspirit, originally known as Geno Gitas, grew up in the Bay Area and began playing piano at a young age. He later picked up the guitar and drums. At just 14 years old, he started producing his own music using Garage Band and beats from YouTube, drawing inspiration from underground rappers on SoundCloud. After leaving high school during his sophomore year, lilspirit moved to Los Angeles to live with his sister, who is a dark-pop singer/songwriter known as Ellise. While producing songs for Ellise, lilspirit continued to work on his own music, tapping into his remarkable talent for creating melodies.
In October, lilspirit released a self-produced single titled “Ugly.” This R&B-pop track showcased his soulful vocals and refined sense of melody, a skill developed through his classical piano training. The song took a different direction from his previous emo-rap-influenced releases. The success of “Ugly” quickly gained attention, and just a month after its premiere, lilspirit signed a record deal with Internet Money Records/10K Projects.
Being a highly productive writer and musician, lilspirit spends nearly every day in the studio. In the past two months alone, he has recorded over 80 songs. His hope is that his music can have a positive impact on his audience. While fans often reach out to express how his songs have helped them through difficult times, lilspirit’s primary focus remains his love for creating music. Writing and making music is therapeutic for him, and he pours his heart into every song he creates.
