Some people in our lives are irreplaceable. This past weekend, rap star Lil Uzi Vert lost one of his dearest friends and “sister” to a mass shooting. Up and coming Memphis rapper Lotta Cash Desto unfortunately was at the wrong place at the wrong time. It’s disturbing the number of young talents that have lost their lives to gun violence. The Details Surrounding Lotta Cash Desto’s Murder
Unfortunately, being in the spotlight isn’t all its cracked up to be. Being a celebrity or even a big-time rapper, can put a huge target on our backs. Last Saturday, another Memphis rapper lost her life to gun violence. Rising female emcee Lotta Cash Desto was shot and murdered in Houston, TX. Furthermore, police arrived on scene on the West side of Texas city where the shooting occurred.
More details surrounding the case reveal that Desto drove a Porsche SUV with two other people inside the vehicle. Both victims, including Desto herself, sustained bullet wounds. Moreover, medics transported the two passengers to a nearby hospital. However, police pronounced Desto dead at the scene early Saturday morning after the incident. As of now, the authorities have no leads on any potential suspects. Hopefully, the police bring justice for the up-and-coming rap star. She deserved better.
Lil Uzi Vert Considered Desto A “Sister”
The news of Lotta Cash Desto’s death shook all those that knew her, especially Lil Uzi Vert. While the “20 Min” rapper hasn’t spoken on the matter, we’re sure he’s mourning over her death. Furthermore, the two remained close friends, where Vert even affectionately referred to Desto as a “sister” or his “twin.” Some sources even indicate that Desto signed with Vert’s label. Additionally, the two collaborated on several projects, including Desto’s “Lunchroom” and “Vegas” tracks. Clearly, there’s plenty of history between the two.
