Lil Uzi Vert Comes Out The Closet To Fans

Masculinity in the black community remains a touchy subject, especially when it comes to rappers. While there’s still some angst against homosexuality in the rap scene, others like Lil Nas X and Joe Budden have come out the closet. Now, Lil Uzi Vert has seemingly identified with the LGBTQ community. Recently, the star changed his pronouns to reflect his gender-fluidity.

Lil Uzi Vert may be in a complicated relationship with City Girls’ JT, given their on and off status. The “Silly Watch” rapper doesn’t just like women, though. Recently, the rapper took to Instagram to update his bio, stating that he now uses they/them pronouns. Many drew speculation about the change, assuming that the artist now identifies as Gender Fluid.

With artist like Lil Nas X coming out the closet as a proud, gay black man, there’s clearly a change in the rap scene starting to take root. Unfortunately, Lil Uzi Vert hasn’t officially confirmed his identity yet. Nonetheless, good for him for living in his truth.

The rapper’s change to his Instagram bio speaks volumes. Though, this isn’t the first time the rapper has teased his sexual identity. Furthermore, the rapper has often shown support for the LGBTQ community. Additionally, he’s even commended other celebrities on sharing their coming-out stories with the world.

That’s not all, though. Lil Uzi Vert has become quite the fashion trailblazer for wearing clothes and accessories that challenge stereotypes surrounding masculinity, such as a Goyard purse. Hopefully, one day the Red & White rapper will feel comfortable enough coming out of the closet.
