Shit, the King’s just layin’ all out there ain’t he?
Since his debut with the Los Angeles Lakers, he has become much more verbal. On HBO’s “The Shop”, Lebron James criticized the owners of the NFL for the way they treat their players. Though he doesn’t highlight a specific example, it’s obvious he’s talking about the national anthem protests. Lebron even goes as far as to say that the owners have a slave owner mentality, according to ESPN.
“In the NFL they got a bunch of old white men owning teams, and they got that slave mentality,” James said during the episode. “And it’s like, ‘This is my team. You do what the f— I tell y’all to do or we get rid of y’all.’
After that, he compared the NBA with the NFL, praising his side of the fence for developing potential and at least allowing players to have a voice in the league.
“The difference between the NBA and the NFL, the NBA is what we believe he [a player] can be. The potential. In the NFL, it’s like what can you do for me this Sunday, or this Monday or this Thursday, and if you ain’t it, we moving on.”
