Lara D Experiences Unexpected Heartbreak In “Bad Case of Loving You”

After achieving chart-topping success in Australia, Sony recording artist Lara D prepares for a North American take over with the release of her U.S. debut, titled “Bad Case of Loving You.” In the song — also accompanied by a music video — the emerging artist tells a rollercoaster road trip love story that teaches a valuable lesson about self-love. “About falling into the trap of toxic love and the mixed emotions that come with discovering if someone is genuine, or if it’s all part of a game,” Lara D explains the Alex Greaves-directed music video. “Sometimes we fall for someone that we shouldn’t because they don’t treat you right or they fall through on their promises. It’s not a heartbreak song, it’s more about warranted disappointment in someone for turning out exactly like you thought they would.”

The song was produced and co-written by David Musumeci and Anthony Egizii of DNA Songs. It’s the song’s smooth and catchy production that caught Lara D’s ear, instantly. “I was playing with vocal ideas and I come up with a cool rhythm vocally in the chorus, everyone reacted and said “that’s it”, it became a key hook – it was funny as I kinda wrote it without thinking,” she says.

Outside the music, Lara D is best known for her performance during Australia’s version of The Voice. Lara D signed with Sony Entertainment in 2021 and is currently working on the forthcoming release of her debut album, as-yet-titled, coming soon. Lara D’s sound exhibits an old soul because of its natural delivery and wisdom.

“Bad Case of Loving You” is available everywhere via Sony Entertainment Australia. For more on Lara D, follow the rising star on social media.
