After the mass shooting that took place in El Paso, Texas; Gilroy, California, and Dayton, Ohio, Lady Gaga is lending a hand to help those affected.
On Friday, the singer put out an announcement saying she’d be providing the necessary resources for 162 classrooms as a way to help students and teachers in their academic pursuits. Lady Gaga’s nonprofit The Born This Way Foundation will be partnering with DonorsChoose. All donations will go towards helping the three cities, says The Hollywood Unlocked. Overall the Lady Gaga mass shooting response is an example of how there is no room for hate in our society.
She shared a message on Facebook explaining her plans for El Paso, Gilroy and Dayton. Not to mention, she asked her fans to help too.
“My heart goes out to those who were taken from us too soon and to their families, loved ones, and communities who are left to grieve. In this moment, I want to channel my confusion, frustration, and fury into hope. Hope that we are there for each other and for ourselves.”
“14 classrooms in Dayton, 125 classrooms in El Paso, and 23 classrooms in Gilroy will now have access to the support they need to inspire their students to work together and bring their dreams to life.”
Gaga also urged for people to check on their mental health following the mass shootings.
“If you’re struggling, please be brave and tell a trusted someone. Don’t be scared to ask for help, I beg you. If you see a loved one struggling, please be brave and reach out, remind them it’s ok to not be ok, and listen to them.”
During last year alone, there have been more deadly mass shootings in the United States compared to any other country.
