Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia rising act Kyle The Hooligan returns to the scene with a brand new song and visual titled “Dear Anna”. As he has been very busy during quarantine, this release couldn’t not come at a better time. Produced by established producer Matt O’Neill, Kyle delivers a an impressive vocal performance over an emo trap melody.
Lyrically insightful and poetic, “Dear Anna” is a metamorphic double entendre, paralleling the death of he and Anna’s relationship (“Die Anna”). Anytime you have to say bye or walk away from a relationship, it is the death of what you to be and can be sometimes hard to process. I commend this artist for being vulnerable and speaking his truth in a sonically pleasing manner.
In the opening moments of the “Dear Anna” video, you will see the Atlanta native sitting on top of a black and white sports car candidly singing the phrase “Dear Anna”. The cinematic visual is compelling featuring a fully loaded band, cool color grades, and a distant lover for whom he serenades.
