kuyaagui Pours Out His Heart On The New Single “End of Times”

Texas-based singer/songwriter kuyaagui recently released a new single titled “End Of Times.” Showcasing his artistic talent as he utilizes his unique vocals blending them into a catchy instrumentation that comes with an ear-pleasing tune to make it more captivating.

“End of Times” is a song about heartbreak and the emotions, feelings, and expression of struggling to let go and move forward from a bad relationship.

kuyaagui had a chat with us and answered our three specific questions. Take a look below.

HYPEFRESH: Let’s begin by introducing ourselves. Share the basics, like your name, age, and where you’re from, as much or as little as you prefer.

kuyaagui: My name is kuyaagui (kooya-ag-you). I am a high school student born in the Philippines with my family. We later moved to Waco, Texas, where I grew up and currently attend school. Growing up, I mentally and situationally struggled, as did my sister and mom, which brought us together very closely. As I got older and still presently, my mom wasn’t around often due to reasons that weren’t her fault, and because of that, my sister took charge of raising me, and to this day, I look up to her as my biggest inspiration.

About two years ago, my sister, Dae Darlin, had many videos go viral, creating funny, entertaining, and relatable content, and her first account, unfortunately, was banned at almost 700k followers. Today though, she continues to make content and music which I also derive inspiration from. When I see her sing and write songs, it pushes me to learn more about mixing and engineering, along with improving my vocals to assist her and myself in reaching our fullest potential.

HYPEFRESH: Can you tell us about your new single, “End Of Times”?

kuyaagui: “End of Times” is an emotional song created a few months ago after the conclusion of a mentally exhausting and hurtful relationship. Throughout the song, I expressed how hard it was to let go and how all I wanted at the time was for her to hold me in her arms, even after everything she put me through because I undoubtedly was still in love with her after years of knowing each other. We cried standing in each other front, and at the time, I wanted more than anything to go to her and wipe them off for her with my jacket, but I knew I had to do this for both of us, and I told her that I had to go. I felt like I wouldn’t ever be able to move on. In the end, though, I knew it would be best for us if I left, so I did that. This song’s only instrument is an acoustic guitar, played by RRAREBEAR, who also produced Save Me Please by Trippie Redd. The other sounds are harmonies, vocal layers, and recordings I performed, mixed, and mastered. I finished the song two and a half weeks ago, and it then released last Monday, the 12th of December.

HYPEFRESH: What do you like most about being a music artist?

kuyaagui: Music is one of the only things that can connect me to my emotions, and that’s one of the biggest reasons I put so much effort and energy towards making it. My whole life growing up, I have connected with music, and I used it as something to fall back on when things got rough, and even still, I spend most of the day with earbuds or headphones on listening to music.

Since around two years ago, when I started to make music, I’ve been allowed to express my experiences and how I felt, which I never really talked about before I started writing and singing songs. It’s allowed me to communicate better, given me an alternative to suppressing and hiding away everything I felt, and opened the door for me to grow as a person in many ways. Another thing that motivates me to make music is that there are people who share my experiences, and I want others to express and connect with music the same way I did.
