Sports fans often get a surprise guest at matches, whether it’s a grand slam tennis star or a musician. However, seeing Kim Kardashian at a football match was a little bit of a shock.
On Thursday night, Arsenal hosted Sporting CP in their Europa League last-16 second leg tie and one of the world’s biggest social media influencers was on hand to watch on. She uploaded a picture on her Instagram story to send Twitter into meltdown, claiming that she was there to film a documentary at the Emirates.
She also posted a series of Instagram Stories from inside the stadium to show off her support for the team and their merchandise. And, perhaps most unexpectedly, she shared a photo of her son Saint in the Gunners’ third kit.
It’s no secret that Kim K is a massive fan of Arsenal, having reportedly been photographed wearing the club’s home shirt for her son Saint’s birthday party back in January. But her appearance at the Europa League game was even more unusual, with Twitter calling it a ‘Kardashian curse’ after the match – which ended in a heartbreaking defeat for the London outfit.
Despite the social media craze surrounding the ‘Kardashian curse,’ the 41-year-old reality TV star was happy to be there for her boy’s big night out and took plenty of photos showing his wide range of emotions throughout the game. He was seen cheering when Arsenal took a first-half lead through Granit Xhaka, before displaying despair and disappointment later on as the match continued to go down to penalties.
