Kerrion Franklin Releases Explicit Family Content
Kirk Franklin’s son, Kerrion Franklin, released audio on social media. The clip portrayed threatening words from the gospel legend to his son.
Kerrion’s post accompanied the clip. It reads:
“This is why I’m done. No father should talk to their children like this. If I have any problems, it’s because of how he treats me behind closed doors,” the 32-year-old shared in an Instagram video on Saturday. According to Kerrion, the argument is nothing new for them.
He passionately added:
“My father hung up on me, no apology, no compassion, no effort. He keeps telling me to go home to my family, but I don’t even know where they live. I can’t trust him to be alone around him anymore. I didn’t want to share this, and I won’t release the whole recording because it’s too embarrassing to deal with this. I hope my dad can overcome his deep hatred towards me. I don’t feel safe around him at all. This recording is recent, not from 2018. I’ll learn from these experiences, find peace in my life, and create beautiful art,” he expressed.
Kerrion Franklin Feels Ostracized from Family
In a previousInstagram post shared days ago, Kerrion Franklin claimed that he was unable to access photos of himself and his family from his childhood.
“I know the damage you’ve been through even if I dunno what you been through,” he shared on Instagram. The upload, white text on a grey background stated, “I’m not allowed to have any childhood pictures of myself or my family. Some of the sh*t ii see yaw complain about is so surface. I’ve been through the fire.”
Kirk Franklin Issues Statement
Following Kerrion’s viral cry for attention, Kirk Franklin issued a public statement and apology in a video posted on social media. The gospel icon said “for many years we have had a toxic relationship with him as a family” and tried to tend to the “private family matter” through therapy and counseling.
Franklin explained that he “lost his temper” during an argument with his eldest son as a result of feeling “disrespected.” The singer admitted that he is “not perfect” and asked the public to keep him and his family in their prayers.
