Kendrick Lamar at Day N Vegas
An award-winning rapper and songwriter, Kendrick Lamar became well known for his storytelling on life in Southern California. Additionally, he gained popularity due to his affiliation with Dr. Dre.
Just a week after the Astroworld disaster artists such as Kendrick Lamar performed. Also, Post Malone replaced Travis Scott after the said tragedy. Moreover, the festival featured Tyler, The Creator prepared for the Day N Vegas festival.
Moreover, this is Lamar’s first performance in two year.
“365 days, times two, since I have seen you”, said the rapper. And this festival appearance is the only one he’s scheduled for 2021.
In this 90-minute set, Kendrick separated his performance into a quartet of suites. As a result of an encore, Vegas-born rapper Baby Keem joined him on stage.
During his set, Lamar was joined by a group of phalanx male dancers in maroon suites, with a few ballerinas and children. This addition ended up adding more dimension to a defining presentation.
Furthermore, this got to be the largest-scaled event since the recent tragedy of Astroworld which led to ten deaths and hundreds of injuries. Most importantly, some of the performers of the night took precautions during this event.
“Tonight, turn to the person on your left and say, ‘I’ve got your back,’” said Kendrick Lamar sometime during his set.
The second installment of Day N Vegas, which debuted in 2019 and officially started in 2020 because of the pandemic. It seemed even bigger than the inaugural festival, which drew a crowd of 60,000 sold-out tickets over three days.
Like its predecessor, the event focuses on music instead of exaggerated production values or creating an immersive experience like other city music festivals, like the EDM-focused Electric Daisy Carnival or Life is gorgeous, enhanced by art.
