Jussie Smollett is under fire once again, and it seems as the City Of Chicago officials is looking to for blood.
For the better part of two months, it has been a publicity nightmare for Smollett. After an extended month of investigating, authorities came to a conclusion that left people in awe. It’s believed that Jussie used racism and hate crime to stage an attack to increase salary. Because of the stunt, they might kill off Jamal on Empire was the belief. Instead, Fox’s Empire decided to reduce Jussie Smollett’s role in the wake of the alleged attack.
Plenty of controversy has come as a result of Smollett’s false claims. The “Jamal” character actor claims to have been attacked by a white man. His claim caused the Chicago Police Department to spend weeks and weeks of investigating surrounding the claims. Above all, the police department claims that it was all a hoax. Now the City is looking to sue the actor for $130,000 in police overtime.

Everything came to an even more dramatic close once Jussie brothers admit to being apart of the hoax. The two apparently wore ski mask to stage the attack. Directly after the Grand Jury hit the mastermind with 16 counts.
“(Smollett) made this statement despite knowing that the Osundairo Brothers are not white-skinned,” the suit says. “By providing this false description, (Smollett) purposely misled the CPD officers to believe that his attackers were white, when, in fact, (Smollett) knew that his attackers were the Osundairo brothers.”
Above all, after court records were sealed the 16 charges were dropped. In addition, Jussie forfeits $10,000 originally paid in bond money for his release. Now more than ever it seems as though Chicago has a target on Jussie’s back. Will the lawsuit be dropped by the Chicago PD? Will he be able to come back to Empire?
