Jussie Smollett has finally broken his silence on the apparent hate crime that landed him in a Chicago hospital.
In an interview with Essence, he stated:
“Let me start by saying that I’m OK. My body is strong but my soul is stronger. More importantly, I want to say thank you. The outpouring of love and support from my village has meant more than I will ever be able to truly put into words.”
The statement comes three days after the Chicago Police Department confirmed his admittance to a local hospital. As we reported, Jussie Smollett was beaten and noosed by two MAGA supporters.
Since the attack, there has been a tremendous amount of support and commentary. The cast of Empire reacted to Jussie Smollett’s attack with love and support. Meanwhile, Trump offered and elusive comment.
But regardless, Smollett has reassured us that he is more than OK.
“I am working with authorities and have been 100 percent factual and consistent on every level. Despite my frustrations and deep concern with certain inaccuracies and misrepresentations that have been spread, I still believe hat justice will be served.”
