In Beyonce’s trainer, Marco Borges’s new book, Jay-Z and Beyonce advocate for a plant-based diet for personal health.

According to People magazine, the hip-hop power couple said in the opening statement:

“Having children has changed our lives more than anything else.” “We used to think of health as a diet – some worked for us, some didn’t. Once we looked at health as the truth, instead of a diet, it became a mission for us to share that truth and lifestyle with as many people as possible.”

However, there is one issue with this statement. Jay-Z and Beyonce are both worth billions and can afford to eat whatever they want. They have the money to eat as healthy as they want. People who do not make nearly as much money as they do not have the same luxury. There are no whole foods in the hood. Even if there were, people cannot afford over-priced food, when they have families to feed with underpaying jobs. So, Beyonce and Jay-Z can spread there a message about health as far as they want. However, unless, they are willing to put some money behind that message, and help people afford better-eating habits, their message is useless.
