Thousands mourn UK’s musical mastermind, Jamal Edwards, who died from a sudden heart attack on Sunday, Feb. 20. Edwards, a pioneering rap and grime guru, was a legend among the British circuit.
“It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son, Jamal Edwards, passed yesterday morning. He died from a sudden illness. “Myself, his sister Tanisha and the rest of the family and friends are completely devastated. He was the center of our world.”
Brenda Edwards, is a panelist and British talk show host to “Loose Women” paid a sorrowful tribute to her “beautiful” son. Jamal was 31 years old at the time of death, according to CNN.
What is Jamal Known For?
Jamal’s legend basks an influential entrepreneur and business professional after founding the grime and hip-hop music platform on SBTV in 2006. He is also known for kickstarting Ed Sheehan, Skepta, Jesse J, and Dave’s careers, according to American Songwriter.
It is important to note that Jamal started his career at 15 with a semi-cheap camera he got for Christmas.
Ed Sheeran also paid a heartfelt tribute to the artist.
“I haven’t posted anything because I don’t have the words. I can’t reply because I don’t know what to say.”
Although he is at lost for words, Sheeran posted a picture of the two.
“Jamal is my brother, his light is so bright. He poured himself into everyone, expecting nothing in return. He then adds, A star’s light shines for millions of years after they go, and this will continue to light up every dark moment. We are witnessing his power.”
