Internet Reacts to Saweetie’s EP Going Double-Plastic

It’s a sad sight to see when I see an artist’s work of art receive terrible reviews. Not because I feel bad for them specifically, because every artist is bound to miss eventually. I feel sympathy for the people for all the creatives and executives who worked so hard on the project. That’s how I feel about Saweetie’s newly released EP, The Single Life. Due to how bad it was, it’s a high chance somebody might’ve seriously lost their job.

    Collective Effort

As much as I dislike the producer, Hitmaka made a brilliant point on Twitter. “Saweetie selling 2k is bad A&R vibes. Someone’s supposed to tell u this ain’t it! “. That project was a group effort and they are all to blame. That means the producers didn’t bring their best production. And her team sat there and let all of this bad music release to the world. Worst of all, Saweetie didn’t handle business in the booth.

Just listen to a song like “P.U.S.S.Y.” There’s no reason that song should’ve left the studio. By far, that has to be one of the worst songs I’ve heard this year. It even has the nerve to sample a classic song, “Juicy” by Biggie Smalls. A song like that didn’t deserve to be disrespected. That song is just a small preview of the abomination that this EP is.

    Backup Plan

Maybe this is a sign that Saweetie should focus more on being an influencer. She could make way more money modeling on Instagram and having people sponsor her than making music. Because boy was this album bad. I will admit men on the internet were being too harsh on her. I read comments saying she should retire and do OnlyFans. If we’re being transparent, she’s not the only person who flopped. I’ve seen legends flop in this day and age. I’m talking legends like Nas flop, and no one bats an eye. They are going harder on her because people already thought she was not talented and credited her success to pretty privilege.

I say all of this to say everybody on her needs to go to the drawing board after their piss-poor attempt. For comparison, Glorilla is a relatively new artist and did better numbers. While we might not know Saweetie for her lyricism, she has shown before she is still capable of making a hit. And nothing about this project sounded hit-worthy, and the numbers reflect it.
