Ice-T Says That Rappers Don’t Wear Their Jewelry In L.A Anymore

Since the death of rapper PnB Rock, much of the rap community has expressed their devastation over the disturbing news. Gun violence and gang culture continue to plague cities from coast to coast, taking the lives of the upcoming and great rap stars. Though, Ice-T especially believes that the streets of L.A. are no longer safe for rappers! In fact, the Law & Order: SUV star noted that many emcees reframe from wearing their jewels out and around in the city. Apparently, L.A. has become one of the most dangerous places for a rapper!

We’d think that the city of L.A. would be more accustomed to celebrities and their flashy accessories. However, every city has their bad neighborhoods. Even famous personalities can’t wear their expensive jewels out in public in certain neighborhoods of L.A. Rappers in particular can’t wear their gold links and grills outside.

According to Ice-T, the streets of L.A. just aren’t safe for emcees who like to show off their wealth anymore. Furthermore, the star took to Twitter to discuss his earlier comments about L.A. gang culture on Wednesday. He explains that many emcees only wear their jewels on special occasions, for the fear of theft. Clearly, the city of L.A. has become a really bad place to live in as a rapper!

Rappers Rather Stay Safe Then Flash Their Jewels

Ice-T went on to further clarify that the reason why L.A. rappers don’t wear their jewels isn’t because they’re broke. Believe it or not, they’re concerned more so about their safety than looking good for the cameras.

On his Twitter page, Ice-T name-dropped several artists who know the ‘gang culture’ very well in L.A. and stay clear of it. “If you NOTICE, LA rappers don’t wear a lotta Jewelry… Me, Snoop, Cube, Dre, Game, Kendrick,” the rapper wrote. Clearly, everyone just wants to stay out of harm’s way. Believe it or not, they’re concerned more so about their safety than looking good for the cameras.
