In the digital age, it can be quite hard shutting down a movement is challenging. This especially goes for Governments going up against a well-known figure is involved.
At the moment it seems as though the government of Hong Kong is seeing what one man can do. Right now it seems as though the Chinese post-colonial rule, is bringing about a major change. A professor by the name of Benny Tai Yiu-ting, is causing a huge ruckus that cannot be stopped. Overall Hong Kong‘s Frank Lucas has led a 79-day street blockade.
Furthermore, Yiu-ting and Chan Kin-man, received 10-month prison sentences, starting as of April 24th. The activist Tai Yiu-ting is also a Reverend, and his stand for change has ignited the Umbrella Movement. In addition despite people serving time not having any access to the internet, they are still writing letters. All of the chaos started taking place when a new law was passed last February. The new law being passed would allow criminal suspects to be transferred to all jurisdictions.
Above all earlier this year the Reverend wrote a letter to the anti extradition movement claiming:
“is a strike back by Hong Kong people against the interference by the Chinese Communist Party.”
“all institutional channels to raise their objections have been blocked.”
In conclusion, can Hong Kong‘s Frank Lucas following be stopped? Who will be overturning the corrupt Government? Leave your comments below and stay tuned to Hypefresh.co.
