Glasper is a black jazz and hip-hop pianist, previously nominated for seven Grammy Awards, winning three of them along with one Emmy Award. Some of Glasper’s other work includes playing the keys for Kendrick Lamar’s, “These Walls”. The song went on to win Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 57th Grammy Awards. Glasper was also a soundtrack producer for the movie Miles Ahead. The soundtrack won Best Soundtrack Compilation at the 58th Grammy Awards.
Glasper’s new single, “Better Than I Imagined”, focuses on Black love. With the world coming to terms with the racial injustices that plague our society, Glasper emphasizes the importance of loving one another in our own personal relationships.
The new track features beautiful lyrics that resonate with us all. H.E.R.’s melodic voice hits home when she sings the words, “Thought it’d be worse cuz it hurts me / But still I can’t see myself with no one else.”
The artist H.E.R. entered the music scene at a young age of 14. It wasn’t until the late 2010s however that the American singer-songwriter truly came into herself. H.E.R. received fame after being nominated for five Grammy awards, winning Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Album in 2019.
Meshell Ndegeocello is an American singer-songwriter, rapper and bassist. Ndegeocello has been nominated for ten Grammy Awards, and is known for sparking the Neo-Soul movement.
