Gregg Leakes, husband of RHOA’s NeNe Leakes, has died at age 66 despite previously overcoming a tough battle with colon cancer.

“Gregg Leakes, most notably known for appearing alongside his wife, actress & TV personality NeNe Leakes on 12 seasons of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta, has passed away at the age of 66.”
Gregg Leakes: A Peaceful Transition
While NeNe shared the unfortunate news publicly during an outing at an Atlanta lounge days prior to her husband’s untimely passing. She appeared strong as she pleaded to the crowd.
“Please, I’m asking everybody in this lounge, I had no idea that I was going to walk in here and grab this microphone and make this announcement but I want to say this… I want to be at peace. When you see me and you see my son, give us a lot of love, okay? My husband is transitioning to the other side… You don’t know what we’re dealing with right now.”
In fact, Gregg was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2018. He was doing well and in remission until June. His family watched him fight a hard battle.
Mourning in Private
Despite the public nature of their relationship, NeNe and the rest of the Leakes family deserve to mourn. During their 24-year marriage, the couple endured some ups and downs, yet in the end NeNe stood by Gregg’s side. In the meantime, the hope is that everyone respects their wishes.
According to TMZ, Gregg didn’t want a funeral, but wished to be cremated. Nevertheless, his family will organize a celebration of life for him in the future.
Rest In Peace to Gregg Leakes.
