Grammy Nominated Producer TANK GOD Drops “Private Dancer” Video

Post Malone “rockstar” producer TANK GOD releases his own project

Twenty-three-year-old TANK GOD made a name for himself as the producer of Post Malone’s smash hit “rockstar” featuring 21 Savage. The 8X Platinum song was Post’s first #1, spending 8 weeks on top of the Hot 100 Chart, was nominated for two Grammy Awards in 2019 – Record of the Year and Best Rap/Sung Performance. Since “rockstar”s iconic moment, Tank has signed a publishing deal with Sony / ATV, released his independent self-titled project in July 2017, and worked with the likes of Swizz Beatz, Rich the Kid, King Combs, and Roddy Ricch.

With more new music and collaborations on the horizon, Tank has released a new banger that shows hits hits just keep on coming. The track, Private Dancer, features Brooklyn rapper and CYN co-founder Kai Ca$h and dropped via Tank’s label Seventh Star Records. Directed by Whipalo, the video premiered on BET Jams this past Sunday March 22, 2020. It features a dreamy trip to the moon alongside fire and ice visuals that amplify Tank God’s signature lush production.

When asked about the experience Tank shared, “While Kai was recording there were a lot of people in the booth.  When he was rapping on the mic, I didn’t think it was actually recording because there were so many people in the and I couldn’t hear the audio… but in 30 minutes the song was completely done. We played it out on the speakers and it was a MOVIE”
Kai Ca$h also weighed in, ” It was a wild moment because it happened by accident and turned into something amazing. I went into the booth with some bars in mind, but the auto-tune was on. Before the engineer could turn it off, I just started vibing and riding the waves.”

    ABOUT TANK GOD:

After creating the multi-platinum, Grammy nominated hit “rockstar” with Post Malone, 23-year-old producer and songwriter Tank God has already accomplished more than many dream about.

But the road to stardom wasn’t always so clear-cut. Growing up in Manhattan’s Chelsea-Elliott Housing Project with his older sister, the New York native was inspired to pursue music after witnessing his sister’s love for early 2000s hip-hop and watching his eldest cousin devote nearly all of his waking hours to beat making. By the age of twelve, Tank God taught himself FruityLoops and started mirroring his cousin’s devotion and drive.

At 15-years-old, Tank God put his music dreams on hold when a close family friend passed away. Before her passing, Tank God promised that he would go on to becoming a doctor after graduating high school and subsequently majored in biology at the University of Hartford in Connecticut. Following a week of grueling final exams in his sophomore year at Hartford, Tank God decided to stay in and make beats instead of partying with the rest of his classmates. He made “rockstar” on a whim of exhaustion and emotion hours after his last final exam. A chance encounter with Post Malone at a studio in Times Square led to the record’s creation two weeks later.

    Post “rockstar” Success
When Tank God received news that “rockstar” had peaked at Number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, he immediately dropped to his knees. The then 20-year-old producer and songwriter signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV soon after, and went on to produce records for Lil Tjay, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, A$AP Rocky, Jay Critch and Chris Brown while continuing to work closely with Post Malone. This January, Tank God also launched his record label Seventh Star Records, named after his favorite number that represents completion in the bible and his birthday on February 7, 1997. With several Seventh Star signings already under his belt, the independent label has quickly become a hotbed for new and emerging talent.

“Private Dancer” is just a precursor to the countless forthcoming releases from Seventh Star Records. It comes three weeks before the release of Sovereignty, Tank God’s EP with 17-year-old Bronx rapper Smooky MarGielaa dropping April 10, 2020.
