GloRilla and Finesse2Tymes Concert’s Crowd Crush Lead to a Death

One person was killed, and nine others were injured during an apparent crowd crush at a GloRilla and Finesse2Tymes show in upstate New York on Sunday night. The concert was part of a series of shows at the Main Street Armory, a 5,000-capacity venue near Rochester, about three hours from Toronto on the other side of Lake Ontario.

In a news briefing on Monday, Police Chief David M. Smith disclosed that the audience’s unfounded fears of gunfire during the show prompted a rush towards the exits, resulting in a stampede that tragically claimed one life and left two others critically injured.

The incident took place shortly after the Memphis rap duo had wrapped up their performance, around 11 p.m. on Sunday night, at Rochester’s Main Street Armory.

The most interesting tidbit about the incident is that Rochester police found “no evidence to support a shooting having occurred.” The concert was a weeklong celebration of local music and arts, including the city’s annual jazz festival.
