Though the “Ready or Not” hit did feature the word, Gina Rodrigez caught major backlash. Thus, resulting in Rodrigez taking to her Instagram story to send an apology!

“I just wanted to reach out and apologize,” she said. “[She is] am sorry, I am sorry if I offended anyone by singing along to the Fugees, to a song I love that I grew up on. I love Lauryn Hill.”

According to The Hollywood Unlocked, this is not the first time that Rodrigez has come up in a conversation about race and language.

If you recall, back in June, Rodrigez was in tears when asked about a comment she made that was perceived as anti-black.

She’s also been accused of pitting black and Latinx actors against each other. Allegedly.
