ABOUT A.CHAL
Alejandro Chal Salazar was born in Trujillo, Peru on May 30, 1989. When he was four years old, his family relocated to Queens, New York City. His stage name, Chal, is a tribute to his late brother Ichal, who passed away at two weeks old. The name Ichal was derived from a mountain near his father’s hometown in Peru. He started rapping at 12 and soon began creating beats and writing songs with a friend at a museum in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He moved to LA in 2010 to pursue a career in music production and songwriting.
