The House Loses…Gamblers Win $270,000+ on Trump Lies!

Hey…if you’ve got a losing horse, why not bet against it?

Now, I didn’t watch Trump‘s address since I knew it was going to be a waste of time and brain cells. And from what I heard, I wasn’t far off. However, the bookies on Bookmaker decided it would be a great opportunity to get some easy cash. Oh boy, were they wrong…

Buzzfeed reports that Bookmaker put -145 odds for more than 3.5 lies and +115 odds for less than 3.5 lies. So if you bet $145 that Trump would lie more than four times, then you won $100. 92 percent of gamblers bet that Trump would lie more than four times. And the results weren’t surprising.

According to Vice, Trump reportedly dropped 11 “untruths”, ranging from the trade deal with Mexico to claiming that a wall would stop heroin trade despite most drugs being smuggled through legal ports. If you recall, we counted down our top 5 lies that Trump tweeted when he first hit the office. So, none of this strikes us as surprising! Now, BookMaker needs to pay its users a total of $276,424. The largest bets gamblers bet ranged from $15,000-$25,000. Odds consultant John Lester had this to say:

“It’s a bad day for Truthiness and Bookmaker. We knew we were in trouble early with this one.”
