Former NFL RB Frank Gore Finds Himself in Some Trouble in NJ

Former NFL RB Frank Gore appears to be facing an assault charge linked to an alleged incident of domestic violence in Atlantic City, New Jersey, reported ESPN. This past Tuesday, the Atlantic City Police Department released a statement stating they responded to a call at the Tropicana Atlantic City on July 31st. They found a 28-year-old woman speaking with hotel security. According to the report, the woman “didn’t show signs of injury” and no complaints were filed at the moment. However, after the investigation concluded it resulted in an assault charge against Frank Gore.

“On July 31, 2022, at 8:11 AM, patrol units were dispatched to Tropicana Atlantic City for a report of a domestic violence dispute,” police said.

“Officers arrived to find the victim, a 28-year-old woman from Miami, Florida, speaking with hotel security. The victim did not exhibit signs of injury and complaints were not filed at the time. However, an ensuing investigation resulted in Franklin Gore being charged with simple assault related to the domestic violence incident.”

An assault charge consists of either bodily harm or injury caused or bodily injury being threatened. The 39-year-old was issued a police summons to answer the charge at a date in court in the future.

    Frank Gore’s Legacy

In June, Gore signed a one-day contract with the San Francisco 49ers to retire as part of their franchise. There are only two players who have rushed for more yards and both are in the HOF (Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton).

Gore’s the No. 3 all-time rusher in NFL history with 16,000 yards. He last played for the New York Jets, however, he suited for several teams around the league. He rushed for 653 yards in 15 games. The longest amount of time he played for a team was nine years with the San Francisco 49ers. He also suited up with the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, and the Buffalo Bills. He finished his career with 19, 985 yards from scrimmage and 99 touchdowns in 241 games.
