Josie Harris, One of Floyd Mayweather’s Ex-Girlfriends and Mother of his children, was found dead.
Floyd Mayweather’s ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris, was found dead inside of her car in California home Monday night. The mother of 3 of Mayweather’s children was 40 years old.
Police are handling the investigation as a natural death as no foul play is suspected. Officials were called to Harri’s home around 9:30 pm local time, where they found her unresponsive. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene, but the cause of death is still unknown.
Mayweather and Harris dated from 1995 to 2010. The couple shares three children. Kouran Mayweather, 20, Zion Shamaree Mayweather, 18, and Jirah Mayweather, 16.
The relationship between the boxer and Harris wasn’t all flowers and rainbows, though. Harris made claims of physical abuse on six separate occasions. On one particular occasion, she alleged Mayweather attacked her in her sleep in front of their children. According to Harris, their oldest son Kouran was able to escape and notify security.
This incident led to Mayweather serving two months in Jail. However, that wasn’t the end of the dispute between the couple. During an interview with Katie Couric, Mayweather touched on the topic again.
In response to the allegations Mayweather stated:
“Did I kick, stomp and beat someone? No, that didn’t happen”.
He went on to say: “I look in your face and say, ‘No, that didn’t happen.’ Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs? Yes, I did. So if they say that’s domestic violence, then, you know what? I’m guilty. I’m guilty of restraining someone.”
Due to his comments, Harris filed a defamation lawsuit against her baby father for $20 million. The suit was still pending at the time of her death. Mayweather has yet to make any comments on the passing of his children’s mother. Prayers are with the couple’s children during this tragic time.
