ESPN Stephen A. Smith And Kings Announcer Have Beef?

According to Sacramento Times, he liked a video on Twitter that used a racial slur to describe ESPN’s broadcaster, Stephen A. Smith. Unfortunately, another case of people showing their true colors has surfaced once again. Sacramento Kings play-by-play announcer Mark Jones has drawn a ton of criticism from the internet.

Jones liked a tweet and then unliked a tweet from Bishop Talbert Swan. The video consisted of raccoons dancing and he used this to describe Smith’s defense for Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’s image surfacing the internet. The image of Jerry Jones was portrayed as a high school protester who was attempting to block Black students from entering Arkansas’ Noth Little Rock High School in 1957.

Jones has acknowledged it and admitted that is him in the photo and he’s stated he’s happy we’ve progressed greatly over time. However, Smith went into great detail on why he should be exonerated for his actions on air.

“I’m very, very fond of Jerry Jones, and I’m not hiding that from anybody,” Smith said. “Is his record perfect? No, but I’m pissed off because he doesn’t deserve what just happened. He doesn’t deserve it. One report, our report, said he was 14 years old. Another report said he was 15 years old. At a minimum, that’s 65 years ago. … This is where cancel culture gets into the mix, and you’re making an attempt to eradicate him, what he stands for, and all that he has done.”

    Stephen A. Smith Receives Backlash

Due to the comments on air, Smith received heavy scrutiny on the internet shortly after. Naturally, Swan didn’t enjoy hearing Smith’s words and doubled down on his post and stance. As a result, Mark Jones removed his like from the tweet, however, it was too late. By the time he attempted to clear his mistake screenshots and shares had already taken place.

At the moment, Jones and the Sacramento Kings haven’t responded to requests for comments or interviews.
