Erykah Badu didn’t receive the love she hoped for when she performed at a recent concert.
After the sexual abuse allegations against R. Kelly surfaced, so did the opinion of Erykah Badu. Despite everyone’s cancellation and Sony’s departure of Kelly, the sultry singer revealed that she was in support of him. Much like Kanye West, it seems as though they support the artist, not the man.
And it’s that thinking process that cost her the love and support from fans during her Chicago concert at the Aragon Ballroom.
Concert-goers reportedly booed her during her set, reports HotNewHipHop. On her Instagram account, Badu responded to the people who booed her. She does not choose sides, instead, she takes a stance with the victims, as well as R. Kelly.
“Having Eyes that can see all points of view is a blessing … and a curse in the court of public opinion. “- a mother
I Con both sides like Chanel.”
When fans saw this, they quickly expressed how they thought she was actively betraying the victims involved in the sexual allegations against Kelly. Much like DJ Paul stated, R Kelly’s music legacy is in question.
Since the post, Badu has not responded.
