Eric Holder’s attorney, Christopher Darden, is quitting the case.
Apparently, the wave of death threats that he and his family has received has become too much to handle. Before news of his resignation, Darden was prepared to defend Holder, the man suspected of killing famous L.A. rapper Nipsey Hussle.
However, after a hearing scheduled for Friday, Darden say’s it’s the last time you’ll see his face. Since taking on the case, Darden say’s it’s been a constant reminder of the time he was participated in the 1995 O.J. Simpson case.
Amid the news that he’d be removing himself from Holder’s case, he had a few last words to say.
“Just as they were in 1995-Cowards never change. These days these cowards don’t send letters instead they sit anonymously behind keyboards threatening a man’s mother and children. To those who issued those threats to my children please pay close attention so there is no misunderstanding. Later. F**K YOU!”
Despite what people may think, Darden claims he was just trying to help a fellow black man gain the rights he rightfully deserves. Before closing out on his statement, Darden addressed the true reasons for taking on the case.
“After centuries of a history of black men hung from trees without trial, or after the thousands of cases of black men tried, convicted and executed without counsel … I cannot understand why in 2019 some people would deny a black man his 6th Amendment right to counsel of his choice.”
